Group Overview
Global Community Interaction (GCI) was formed in January 1997 by interpreters registered with the (then-existing) Tokyo Disaster Prevention Language Volunteer program run by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's Bureau of International Affairs.We provide foreign residents, returnees, non-native Japanese speakers and others with linguistic support including free interpretation and multilingual consu.
Organization's PR Message
The following projects were realized with favor of foreign members of GCI. An English-instructor member teaches techniques of interpretation as support action of interpreters. And foreign students who practiced Japanese at GCI held workshops of their own mother languages for mutual understanding.
